The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH) will announce the launch of the 20,000 Homes Campaign in Toronto on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. The 20,000 Homes campaign is a national movement of communities working together to permanently house 20,000 of Canada’s most vulnerable homeless people by July 1, 2020. Currently, 16 communities across Canada have signed on to participate in this initiative and will be announced at the event.
The announcement coincides with the inaugural 20,000 Homes Registry Week Boot Camp, an intensive two-day training session for campaign communities. Community leaders will be taken through the process of how to recruit and train volunteers as well as the steps involved in running a Registry Week in their own individual cities.
